Why Are We So Concerned With Others?
More often than not I hear my girls rattling off about what someone else is wearing or...not wearing!
I used to be the same way, when I saw someone wearing or saying something that I didn't like, I was the first one to jump on the wagon and start bashing them.
Howcome girls do this? I never hear my guy friends saying "OH MY GOD, THAT TOP IS SOOOO NOT."
sure, everyone has their feux paas, mine are crocs, I just can't stand them!
and clothing, or nudity that is inappropriate isn't good either.
and I'm not saying there aren't plenty of people walking around with bad clothes and low self esteem.
But more often than not I see my friends making snarky comments at the girl in "ugly" shoes who just happens to be glamorous enough to pull them off.
I guess my real question is, why do individuals think that they are so fashionable that THEY can make the calls on what someone is wearing.
When I realized how much I was judging people, I started to notice it isn't the clothes that fail, it's the person that picked them out.
Remeber that lovelyish post about the "Ugly" shoes?
well I've come to realize the only thing making any of those shoes ugly or unfashionable is the person wearing them. (I'll save my rant about the difference between things made for aesthetics and things made for the sake of art for a different post)
All looking good really is to me is knowing what you can pull off and doing it, and if someone walks past me wearing crocs, a tutu, and 5 pounds of eyeliner, while being absolutely fabulous, I have no room to judge or dictate what is and is not acceptable.
Do you find yourself concerned with what other people are wearing? how often? why or why not?
if you do, maybe you should turn your comments on yourself
what were you thinking when you put that on this morning?
do you know what other people are seeing?
where did you buy your clothes?
Why are we not more concerned about what we are wearing ourselves anyway?

The Weather Influences My Mood
When it's sunny I want to go out at night, I want to run around town but underneath it all I'm just doing it all because I have to, I'm inclined to especially on a sunny day!On a rainy day, I feel so positive, the ambient light, mixed with the sound of the raindrops just makes me want to talk to everyone, I want to visit people, go shopping, get stuff done! I love rainy days because it feels so good outside, everyone just seems so relaxed. On stormy nights I'm bitchy, because I know the powers going to go out, and I want to have my tv, and coffee, and cell phone. I know if I want power, I'm going to have to go out! When it's cold, I feel warm. I know, wierd right? but I love the cold! have you ever had a kiss in the freezing cold? have you ever taken a drag in the middle of winter, have you ever walked around downtow in the cold air? if you haven't, you should try it, they're feelings I can't forget!how does the weather influence your mood?

I'm a girl, and I listen to Metal.
I'm not a lesbian, and I'm not angry at anything.I'm just posting this to figure out why guys pass so much strong judgement when I say that I listen to metal. It's not like I don't listen to other music, britney has a little spot in my playlistbut when I tell guys I listen to rap or something they just nod, but when I say, "well I listen to alot of metal and expirimental" these are the responses I get (from most popular to least)"Wow so, does that mean you're like a lesbian?""OMG that is so cool, I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE A GIRL""do you game?""like real metal??? not like marilyn manson or something right?""wow you must be really scary""I've been looking for a sort of bad girl"now, really, guys, WHY?!?!?!?!music genres don't make someone hardcore, a lesbian, or hotor does it?and if it does why?I thought guys could answer this question better than I could.so tell me, WHY IS IT that you're all so responsive to the genre of metal?when I can say, oh, I listen to miley cyrus, and get no response.what do you think about girls who are metalheads? -

Ugly In The Eyes Of God
Now I'm not highly religious or anything, but if it's one thing I've learned from church it's that god wants us to treat each and every individual with respect. Yet throughout history religious wars involving christians have been pretty popular.
I live in Texas, and there is a very strong religious foundation here, but what worries me is the condemning nature I've observed in "true" and "real" christians. I don't really understand it, the whole fire and brimstone thing, the whole 'call your neighbor a devil worshipper and don't ever contact them again' thing. I don't understand making christianity look ugly.
Honestly, I think that kind of stuff just drives people away.Sometimes I wonder if it's a question of morals or maturity.
I remember there was a "real" catholic girl in my class, and she wouldn't talk to anyone who she knew used tampons, because in her eyes they weren't virgins.
Sure there are more controversial issues in which christians have been ugly. Homosexuality, being a very popular issue nowdays.
People come from all different walks of life, yet I see highly religious christians disowning good people, because they don't go to church every sunday.
Why is it that believers find it justified to be UGLY to other human beings to stand up to their god? Is that really what the bible teaches? Shun the nonbeliever?
Now I have seen plenty of ultra religious people who are good to everyone and they are some of the nicest most curteous people I know, but I have also seen some ugly, ugly, ugly, christians and it's embarassing to me.
Is it right? or is it wrong?
Here are just some that have made it to television...but I know you know what I'm talking about....
"god hates the USA"
"god hates you"
"you're going to hell"
why would I want to believe in a god that hates me?????
and how can anyone justify this???
I want to know...
